Why I started First Crack

I spent years chasing great coffee — driving hours to farm-gate roasters, swapping beans with friends, hunting down the tiny operations that don’t show up on Instagram. The best cups I’ve ever had came from people you’ve never heard of, roasting in spaces smaller than your kitchen.

The problem? Finding them is a full-time job. Most of these roasters sell out in hours, don’t have websites, and rely entirely on word of mouth.
